I have neglected this blog as I have tried to come to terms with being unemployed this year. Ok, I have a job but not in a school. I am teaching 2 year-olds aka changing diapers for 14 bucks an hour. I try not to complain but I do. I went back to school to teach elementary school not change diapers. I could of worked in childcare with out going into the large amount of debt I've accumulated. So yes, somedays I feel like a loser and other days I can't help but enjoy being surrounded by my little kiddos. Yesterday I was loving it . . .
I was at the 9th hour of my 10 hour shift. I was walking to the playground with 9 two year-olds. I had lost my co-teacher and just realizing it was me verse 9 two year-olds, a scary ratio. All the sudden my adorable teddy-bear of a boy looked up at me and yelled, "Your glasses!"
I had been wearing my red Taiwanese glasses the whole day. I guess it was the first time he had really looked at me. To give him credit I mostly wear my contacts. He was so obviously happy by the fact that I was wearing my red glasses (and thinking back he did question me about the disappearance of my glasses the first time I wore contact) that I had to ask "Why do you like my glasses?"
"Because they are COOL!"
I had to laugh as 9 two year-olds all started to agree that my glasses were indeed cool. So friends I am not just a loser preschool teacher I am a COOL preschool teacher with awesome glasses!
